Chamonix is closer than one realises at an hour's drive from Geneva airport
Having access to nature in its purest form is true luxury. Since work is no longer a place, you can run your business or work from here and be here for the best day of ski. This is what Majestic 5 is about...
Chamonix needs no introduction, we love the chilled vibe, the international crowd, the sense of adventure and the people who come to Chamonix do so for their love of the outdoor and skiers all over the town are outfitted in harnesses and equipped with off-piste gear to take on Chamonix’s diverse terrain. One of France’s oldest ski resorts, Chamonix’s outdoor culture revolves around backcountry skiing.
About us: We found that living in a fast paced city and with busy lives that we missed the mountains. We considered different ski resorts but when we found the flat it ticked all the boxes, we wanted a historic building with high ceilings, amazing views of the mountains. It had to be in the centre of Chamonix and close to the slopes to cater for the skier and non-skier. Additional we wanted to live in a place with a community and yearlong activities. We wanted to be in the Pays du Mont-Blanc given our roots and also be able to do yoga, have good quality coffee and be able to buy our weekend FT.
As we currently live in Singapore, we only get across a few times in a year. We trust that you will enjoy the exquisite setting of Majestic5.
The apartment offers easy access to the ski slopes, with a short stroll up to the Brevent lift and the nearest bus stop is 100m walk giving you easy access to Grand Montets, Flegere and les Houches for world class skiing.
The beginner’s slope is a 5 minutes’ walk away and the Nordic skiing piste and swimming pool are closeby. This means that you can park your car in the garage and not need it at all during your stay, making for a more enjoyable mountain experience.
Chill on the sofa and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Mont blanc range from les Drus to Aiguille du Midi.
The beautiful French oak floors, luxurious bedding, original ceiling mouldings and doors make it more than a place to stay - it’s an experience.
It’s an icon building originally a luxury hotel built at the turn of the century 20th century. There was a demand for palace hotels when the railway line was laid in the Chamonix valley in 1901 and attracted guests who wanted to see the mountains and have the same standards as they were used to in Paris, Biarritz and the french Riviera. It was built in the Belle époque style which was an era when they built big, era of the Titanic.
The Majestic has an elevated position and looks down on Chamonix which means that despite being so close to the bars, restaurants, the shops and the slopes, it is very quiet.
We fell in love with the building so aptly named. The building has a proper old-world glamour about it and you feel it upon entering the foyer and seeing the Air France map, the old mailboxes, the Cachat’s Majestic poster and the beautiful staircase which saw royalty and celebrities coming down for dinner in their dinner jackets and ball gowns.
The concert hall and the exhibition area which holds the yearly ‘Bourse aux Mineraux’ continues to make the building an important part of Chamonix and relevant to the inhabitants as it used to be in its glorious past.
